There is a great deal of confusion as to how cannabinoids are used by the body to create change. Most often you see information about cannabinoids absorbability within the body, i.e., their ability to reach the enormous amount of cannabinoid receptors in the body. There is a second critical feature to understand and that is the ability of cannabinoids to cross the blood brain barrier. The basic truth is that for most any substance, the ability to cross the blood brain barrier is dependent on particle size. Smaller particles cross more easily than larger relatively larger particles. Many particles are so large, cross the blood brain barrier is impossible.
When it comes to nutrients crossing the blood brain barrier to create beneficial effects in the body, size matter. The reality is that the smaller the particle size, the easier it is for that particle to cross into the brain. When it comes to a particle of CBD the size of that particle is about 2,000 nm in size. In other words, the average bottle of CBD is comprised of a whole lot of 2,000 nm sized particles which have defined activity in the body. As the particle size goes down, the impact of the CBD goes up. Practically speaking, today, the smallest CBD particles that exist are from micelles. Micelles are good but they are not real nano. Micelles are often 120-200 nm in diameter – falling above the scientific cutoff for real nano which is 100 nm. A great nano particle size for CBD is what is being produced by the Canadian Government’s National Research Council Nano Center – 10 nm.
Do not be fooled by Nano Waters
The concept of a real nano water is fantastic. Imagine a liquid product that looked, smelled, and tasted just like water but delivered the wallop of nano sized cannabinoid ingredients. Aside from the availability of the nano particles of CBD, the following is the process for making such a water.
· Step One – Purified Water must run through a series of reverse osmosis filtering stages, to remove smaller impurities from the water.
· Step Two – Split the bonds between the hydrogen and oxygen atoms, which breaks down the natural, large clusters of water into nano clusters.
· Step Three – As the water molecules are split, there is a split-second window where the tiny, nano sized CBD particles could be infused.
· Step Four – Nano CBD is immediately captured in the newly formed nano water clusters which are small enough to cross the blood brain barrier or pas through any cell wall.
The result would be a real Nano Water. We are funding and working with multiple entities to create a highly effective and affordable nano water, but an honest product is still a few months or more away. In the meantime, do not be fooled into claims of nano waters which normally are just water with minute amounts of CBD in a liposome covered layer.
